Four Daihatsu concepts for Tokyo 2013 debut

If you thought the old Daihatsu Copen roadster was a bit feminine for a ‘sports’ car, you’ll be pleased with this: Daihatsu’s new, butched-up, small two-seater roadster, the 2014 RMZ Kopen concept. The aggressive-looking mini cabriolet will make its world debut at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show later this month alongside another, rather interesting version of Daihatsu’s didi prototype – the off-road-inspired XMZ Kopen concept. A tribute to Ermanno Cressoni

Last week the car design community suffered a great loss. Ermanno Cressoni or 'Arch' as many of his designers affectionately referred to him, passed away on Thursday 30th June in Milan after battling with cancer for 13 months.'Arch' was a reference in car design and his contribution to our profession was much more important than stated in the press. As Alfa Romeo Centro Stile Director he directed the Alfetta berlina, the famous chrome GTV grille from the early seventies is attributed to him, as is the Giuglietta sedan of the late seventies, the Alfa 33, the 75, and many of the racing Alfas we adore from the late 60s and early 70s.

Hyundai Veloster Turbo - first photos The Hyundai Veloster Turbo will arrive officially later today at the Detroit Motor Show, but we already have the first photos of Hyundai’s hot hatch. Apart from the daft looking Hyundai Hexa Space that turned up at Delhi last week, all Hyundai’s latest offerings have been pretty much on the money, none more so than the very convincing Veloster. But there was just one thing we didn’t like about the new Veloster – it’s lack of oomph.
